Being out on an expedition can be pretty hard work. It’s utterly exhausting being in charge of 20 over-excited boys who invariably eat way too much candy and end up either spending the night vomiting, or climbing into each others’ tents to do God knows what. They say that a good scout always knows when to relax – and that goes double for scoutmasters. The moment I’m relieved of my duties, even if it’s only for half an hour while the other scoutmasters have everything covered, I head straight for my tent.
